What is ABA therapy?

For kids with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or behavioral challenges, learning how to communicate, use motor skills, and be in touch with themselves is challenging. What ages do you work with?

We provide support for children, teenagers, and adolescents aged 1 to 21. The earlier a child begins ABA therapy, the more effective the results! Contact us today to get started.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy rooted in psychology that helps us understand why behaviors happen and teaches individuals safe, effective ways to communicate, build skills, and engage with the world around them. Using research-driven strategies, ABA supports growth in communication, social skills, and independence while reducing challenging behaviors. Every treatment approach is personalized to each individual’s unique needs and strengths.

ABA therapy can help your child learn new ways to interact with their world. This
can include increasing their independence in tasks, communicating more reliably or in a way that other people can understand, improving their flexibility or ability to cope in frustrating situations, and reducing behavior that limits their ability to access their environment. ABA therapy can help make daily routines easier, make accomplishing tasks less stressful, and improve your understanding of your child’s needs.

The cost of ABA therapy varies based on your insurance coverage. Our
administrative team will contact your insurance provider to complete a benefits check and provide an estimate of your potential costs, such as co-pays, deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, and co-insurance amounts. Because coverage and rates are determined by your insurance provider, we cannot guarantee the exact cost of services. We highly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information about your plan’s ABA coverage.

Every child’s journey with ABA is unique. The length of therapy depends on your
child’s individual needs, current skill set, and progress over time. During the intake process, your clinical team will create a transition and discharge plan tailored to your child. This plan is reviewed and updated regularly to ensure goals remain meaningful and appropriate as your child grows. Your ABA team will keep you informed about progress, expectations, and anticipated timelines throughout your child’s care.

ABA therapy itself is not harmful—it is rooted in science, compassion, and respect for each individual’s unique needs. However, not all ABA providers are the same. At Actify ABA, we prioritize assent-based, trauma-informed, and compassionate practices that support your child with care and understanding. Our Clinical Leadership Team continuously monitors treatment to ensure that best practices are followed, and your family receives the highest quality of ethical care.

The first step is reaching out to Actify ABA. Visit our “Contact Us” page, and our team will guide you through every step of the process, providing support along the way to ensure everything is completed smoothly.

While we cannot predict what your specific child’s ABA therapy journey will look like, you can expect to receive a treatment plan that is tailored to your child’s individual needs and aligned with your family’s values. You can expect clinical recommendations based on a comprehensive assessment process, designed to evaluate what level of services your clinician recommends your child to receive based on their clinical strengths and deficits. You can expect consistent and frequent contact with your BCBA, involvement in the ABA process, and full access to your child’s treatment. You can also expect involved and supportive Clinical Leadership to provide positive outcomes.

Most insurance plans currently cover ABA therapy for children with an Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. That said, ABA has been shown to be effective for many other challenges, including ADHD, ODD, OCD, and other behavioral concerns. If your child doesn’t have an Autism diagnosis but you’re interested in ABA, please contact us. Our Clinical Team can talk through the options and help determine the best approach to support your child and your family.

Yes. At Actify ABA, our Clinical Leadership Team has established clinical quality
standards to ensure that trauma-informed and assent-based practices are used consistently. These standards are updated regularly based on the latest research to ensure all care is evidence-driven and delivered with compassion. Our leadership team also monitors each client’s treatment to ensure that families feel supported, standards are met, and children receive safe, caring, and effective services.

Your child’s BCBA will conduct a comprehensive assessment of their strengths, skills, and behavioral needs. Based on this evaluation, the primary BCBA will provide an individualized recommendation for treatment hours tailored to your child’s unique needs. After the intake process, this information is shared with parents, and we work closely with your family to create a schedule that aligns your child’s availability with the recommended hours for the most effective and convenient therapy plan.
