SKILLS WE WORK ON
Therapy focused on areas that are important to your family

ABA Therapy can improve your child’s ability to pay attention to the world around them, follow directions, and engage with others.

ABA therapy can help your child learn safe and clear ways to express themselves so others can understand them. This often reduces frustration and unwanted behaviors, leading to more positive and meaningful interactions with the people around them.

ABA therapy can help your child participate in age-appropriate social activities, such as taking turns, sharing, and engaging in conversations.

ABA Therapy can support your child’s growing skill set and teach them new skills, such as playing on their own or completing important tasks without extensive adult guidance.

ABA Therapy can promote your child’s ability to complete daily living or hygiene tasks, increase their flexibility or ability to wait, reduce difficulties with transitions, and regulate their emotions.

Some children may engage in behavior that may be considered challenging or unsafe. We will work to determine why these behaviors are happening, teach your child safe and effective ways to access what they want, and help them better cope when what they want is not currently available.

The good news is that most Medicaid and major insurance plans cover ABA therapy. The better news is: we’ll handle all insurance submissions and filing for you. Reach out — with no commitment — to see if your insurance will provide coverage.

On average, therapy sessions last between 2 to 5 hours, and will take place daily or a few days a week. Typically, the duration of therapy spans about 1 to 3 years. However, since each child has unique learning styles and skills to develop, the timing may vary for each individual. Your dedicated BCBA will create a personalized plan that fits your child’s specific needs. As they progress and master skills, your BCBA will re-evaluate and update the therapy plan.

ABA therapy helps children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) build essential skills that empower them with self-confidence and independence. Through personalized therapy plans, ABA therapy can help children with ASD improve:

  • Communication skills
  • Playtime skills
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Anger management
  • Direction-based listening
  • Coping tools
  • Decision making
  • Openness to change
  • Other life skills

As they master these abilities, they gain self-esteem and the tools needed to thrive at home and in social settings.
